An independent Physiotherapy Examination involves a review of the musculoskeletal system to determine the presence of an impairment attributable to the incident in question. Such an evaluation comprises of an interview with the claimant, objective measurements and some physical testing such as flexibility evaluation, coordination testing, joint assessment, muscle strength, nerve function, and soft tissue examination. Upon determining an accident-related impairment, the reasonableness and necessity of existing treatment proposals are assessed and recommendations are made for reasonably required physical modalities for the claimant’s recovery.
