Neuro-Psychiatric Evaluations

An independent Neuropsychiatric assessment addresses all aspects of the psychiatric evaluation and includes additional testing sensitive to the effects of a brain injury or significant cognitive impairment impacting the employee’s ability to learn and/or perform job functions. A neuro-psychiatric evaluation consists of a medical history review and is informed by observations of family members and/or caregivers. It also includes a battery of specialized tests including cognitive, mental status, and neurologic exams that measure cognitive abilities, communication skills, learning and memory. Our expert physicians who specialize in neuropsychiatry or behavioural neurology identify and report on the best training approach to meet the individual’s needs and the vocational supports that may be required to help the worker succeed. This evaluation is intended to identify realistic and suitable occupations the employee could perform given their education level and training.
